At UK Fingerprints, our fingerprint officers are fully qualified, New Scotland Yard-trained fingerprint experts. Our team of fingerprint experts each have at least 25 years of experience in the police forensic world, so you can be assured that our officers will fully understand the quality required for your fingerprint submission. We also have officers who are members of the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences.

Integrity and professionalism

Client confidentiality and safety are of paramount importance to us. All of our fingerprint officers are vetted, DBS cleared, and typically worked within the police forensic environment.

Meet our Directors

Janice Runacres (Managing Director), MCSFS, CIISCM.

Janice has worked within the field of forensics for 37 years. Before joining UK Fingerprints, Janice worked for the Metropolitan Police as a Scenes of Crime Officer, Fingerprint Expert and Crime Scene Manager, managing many major crime scenes.

Janice managed two Metropolitan Police Fingerprint laboratories and co-ordinated their amalgamation. She is a member of the Chartered Society Of Forensic Sciences.

Janice joined UK Fingerprints in 2012.

Richard Button, LLB (Hons), Barrister, ACSFS

Richard was a Fingerprint Expert at New Scotland Yard for 21 years. He became the Technical Aide to the Head of the Fingerprint Branch before leading its Serious Crime Team. Among other duties, he trained, assessed and examined candidates’ suitability for gaining expert status thus qualifying them to give expert evidence in court.

He became a Barrister in 1993, specializing in Criminal Law for 23 years. He is an Associate of the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences.

Richard joined UK Fingerprints in 2020.

Amanda Harrison, ACSFS

Amanda has a wealth of experience having worked within the field of fingerprints and forensic science for over 38 years as both a practitioner and manager. She has managed many major crime scenes, both in the UK and overseas. Amanda was fully trained at New Scotland Yard to Fingerprint Expert status. She became the youngest Head of a Fingerprint Bureau in the UK, before being promoted to Head of Forensics for Warwickshire Police.

Amanda joined UK Fingerprints in 2018. Amanda also acts as UK Fingerprints’ Police Liaison Officer.

Kevin Selby

Kevin has worked in fingerprint services for over 40 years and is a trained Fingerprint Expert and Crime Scene Investigator.

Before joining UK Fingerprints, Kevin managed the Metropolitan Police Fingerprint Laboratory and the Serious Crime Laboratory at the Forensic Science Unit in London . He also worked at the UK Defence Scientific Research Laboratory.

Kevin joined UK Fingerprints in 2015.
