Terms and Conditions

UK Fingerprints operate under the following Terms & Conditions to which you must agree before instructing us to carry out any work for you. UK Fingerprints will take your fingerprints digitally on to LiveScan or  manually onto a fingerprint card of your choosing supplied by you. The prints provided to you will be to a searchable standard as per UK criteria, for later examination by a qualified Fingerprint Examiner from the agency or country requesting them. Requests for palm prints must be notified to us in advance. We will do our very best to provide the highest quality of fingerprints but this may not always be possible if the client has poor fingerprint quality or is suffering with eczema, dermatitis, arthritis, psoriasis, symbrachydactyly, dupuytren contraction, lipoid proteinases, thin ridge characteristics, smooth finger surfaces, cut and/or burn marks, broken or deformed fingers, pattern deterioration through age or chemotherapy, cold or flu, hyperhidrosis aka excessive sweating, cracked dry skin or similar conditions or poor flexibility of wrist movement reducing the ability to roll the fingerprint. We should be notified of such problems at the time of making your appointment. In such instances we will endeavour to arrange for a specialist to take your prints but we must be advised in advance otherwise a repeat visit will require the full fee to be paid again.

We do not provide Apostille or government Legalisation Services (see www.fco.gov.uk/legalisation if you require such a service). However, we can take your fingerprints as an ‘Issuing Authority’ for submission to the Legalisation Service.

We are not processing agents for your fingerprints whether for visa or passport applications, police clearance certificates, regulatory compliance or the service or proof of service for any document in the UK or overseas.

Because of the many variations in procedures required by regulators, law enforcement or government agencies worldwide it is your responsibility to ensure that our service meets your requirements. We merely transfer your fingerprints on to the appropriate forms. What use you put those forms to is for you to decide and is your responsibility. Any comments, suggestions made by us will only be of a general nature and do not absolve you of your responsibility to ensure our service is fit for your purpose and that you have followed the requesting authority’s procedures correctly. We do not accept responsibility for confirming your identity, however, if requested at the time of making your appointment we can provide a Certificate, signed by the Fingerprinting Officer to say that you produced some form of government issued identification, preferably photographic, at the time the prints are taken. This Certificate will also be used to note any issues regarding the quality of the prints taken (as mentioned above) so that you can forward the Certificate to the agency requesting your fingerprints to assist their technician processing the fingerprints.

We cannot accept responsibility for any overseas agency that claims they are unable to process your fingerprints or fail to return the results to you for whatever reason. It is also your responsibility to ensure all paper work is completed correctly. Using our expertise, we will make every attempt to provide fingerprints of a searchable standard, but the physical condition of your fingers, as listed above, may have an impact on the quality of the impressions and the results obtained. It should be noted that fingerprint quality deteriorates through age, manual work and certain sports in addition to some medical conditions.

PAYMENT TERMS

Individuals

Individual client’s payment terms will be either payment in advance or on the day the prints are taken.  Cash or debit card payment will be acceptable. Personal credit cards will attract a £4.80 surcharge. A corporate credit card will attract a 5% surcharge. Only payment in advance will guarantee confirmation of the appointment and that appointment will be held open for 45 minutes from the appointed time. Where payment has not been made in advance the appointment will be held open for 15 minutes from the appointment time. This is to ensure you attend your appointment on time and to cover our losses if you fail to attend. We run a tight appointment schedule. If you are late then we may not be able to take your fingerprints and your fee will not be refunded. A rescheduled appointment will require the fee to be paid again in full.

Corporate & Business

Corporate & business clients will initially be offered 7 days credit payment terms which may be extended at our discretion once a good payment profile has been established. It is the business client’s responsibility to advise us whether Purchase Order Numbers etc., are required when contracting with us. Work carried out in the UK must be contracted with a UK registered company with payment made from a UK entity. Payment on account may be required.

Non UK debit or credit card payment will attract a surcharge based on the card type, bank and country of issue.

Law Firms

We contract with the requesting party, not their clients. We do not agree to a ‘pay when paid policy’. Payment is ‘on account’ prior to the agreed appointment.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made, in writing, by 8am on the day of the client’s appointment. After that time the client will attract a fee commensurate with the loss we suffer as a result of the cancellation. A rescheduled appointment must be paid for in advance and is non-refundable.

General

If any prints are rejected through the fault of UK Fingerprints then a second set will be taken free of charge. If the rejection is through the fault of the client, for example poor finger quality as specified above, then the client will be required to pay the full fee for any retakes.

With all overdue invoices we reserve the right to apply the Late Payment of Commercial Debt (Interest) Act 1998 as amended by the late Payment of Commercial Debt Regulations 2013.

Any debt recovery costs e.g. legal fees, debt recovery agency fees, County Court Judgement costs must be paid in full by the client.

We are certified as compliant to The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS).

Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions fall within the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales only and by agreeing to them you also agree that any disputes can only be dealt with in the courts of England and Wales.
